What should I do after getting Botox?

  • Don’t touch the treated area. However, you don’t need to avoid making any facial gestures; frowning, smiling, and other facial expressions might assist your Botox benefits to appear sooner!
  • Avoid lying down for the first several hours after your Botox treatment.
  • Wait 24 hours after Botox to exercise or exert yourself. Exercise can raise your risk of bruising or swelling by boosting your blood pressure and the likelihood of the substance spreading rather than remaining in the location indicated by the injector.
  • Avoid excessive heat and UV exposure. Sun exposure can prolong the redness or swelling caused by Botox, therefore, use sunscreen and follow excellent sun protection habits. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and other activities that also entail a lot of heat.
  • Alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours following injections since it increases the risk of bruising.
  • For the next 24 hours, avoid using blood thinners.
